COVID-19 Travel Restrictions in Belize

While Belize is opening its borders for international travelers, certaiPolicies and Procedures will need to be followed when entering the country, before and during your stay there. Travel Advisories

Please note:
Starting January 26, 2021, the U.S. Government will require all travelers coming from international countries - including U.S. citizens - to present negative test results within 3 days of departure aboard a flight. Antibody tests and vaccines are not accepted.

From Monday 9th August all visitors to Belize, regardless of their vaccination status, must present either a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours or a rapid antigen test taken within the last 48 hours. Alternatively, they will be tested at the international airport at a cost of USD $50 per person. Children under 5 are exempt from testing.

Travelers entering Belize are no longer required to download and complete the Health App prior to arrival. However, you are required to complete the Customs and Immigration form that is provided to you on your flight to Belize.

From September 20th, 2021, a curfew will be in place from 7 p.m. to 4 a.m. daily.

Please list "The Moorings" as your Gold Standard resort for entry to Belize.

Terms and Conditions

Our Terms and Conditions have changed to include information regarding what happens if you are required to quarantine on your yacht due to a positive COVID-19 PCR test result. Please review and sign online.


Travel Insurance

Contact a Vacation Planner to purchase travel insurance coverage through Charter Travel Insurance.

Guest List

In preparation for your arrival, we ask that you fill out the Guest List with a list of all of the passengers on your yacht including yourself. Please submit this form at least 30 days prior to departure.



Order your food and beverages in advance with our convenient online provisioning store and have your provisions delivered directly to your yacht. Please order at least 10 days prior to your charter. The marina will not be able to accommodate orders placed on the day you arrive.


Book Transfers

Contact a Vacation Planner to make transfer or flight arrangements to and from the airport.

Watch Charter Briefings

We require all guests to watch a charter safety video. The captain and first mate must become familiar with the sailing area by watching a chart briefing. Please watch these briefing videos in the comfort of your own home or office before you are scheduled to depart.


Gold Standard Hotel

All travelers must proceed to their approved Gold Standard hotel or yacht and continue their vacation. If the results upon arrival are positive, you are required to quarantine at your Gold Standard hotel or yacht at your own expense until the Ministry of Health gives you clearance via the health app (min. 14 days).

You are encouraged to only use Gold Standard restaurants, tour sites, gift shops and certified transportation, a list of these entities can be found here.

When You Arrive

COVID-19 Testing

All incoming travelers who do not present proof of vaccination, a COVID-19 RT-PCR Negative (Swab) Test or negative rapid test (details see under Travel Advisory) will be tested on arrival. The cost of the test is $50 per traveler.

There are testing facilities at Stann Creek Southern Regional Hospital (Contact: 501-522-3835) and Independence Polyclinic (Contact: 522-523-2167 or [email protected]).
Please note that in the Stann Creek region which includes Placencia, a new test center has been established in the village near the public pier. The base will assist you by making appointments for your rapid tests. Please anchor in Placencia Harbor and walk (about 300 yards) to the facility where the turn around time will be around 4 hours, or you can return to the marina and the base will arrange a taxi to take you to the center.

During Your Charter

Public Spaces

Guests must wear a face mask in all public spaces and must always keep a safe distance of 6 ft.
